Hammocks Do Rock

One of the best purchases we have made for our camping outings is our hammocks. We haven’t been able to use them on every single trip though, because we need trees to hang them. Something that isn’t so plentiful in the desert. As you can see here, they are fabric hammocks and we hung them from the sun shade that was provided at the campsite.

One thing we would like to get is a hammock stand. They would work okay for car camping, but not so well if we were backpacking in somewhere. There are so many different types of hammocks on the market to choose from, and you can read all about these different types at HammocksRock.

Plan a Summer Road Trip

April 26, 2007 - Tag: Camping Trips - Feedbacks (7)

There is a great site that my blogging buddy Drew from The Wired Kayaker turned me onto, and I just love it! It’s called America’s Byways®: National Scenic Byways Online, and the question on the site is, “Where do you want to go?” So I clicked on Nevada of course, and I got the Las Vegas Strip. Uh…okay. Not the kind of thing I was looking for. Onto my next search.

Southern Utah isn’t too far of a drive, and Dinosaur Diamond Prehistoric Highway looks like a fantastic place to visit!

Numerous sites are available to the public where bones and tracks are still visible in the ground.

How cool is that?

I love the Print-n-Go feature, where you can print maps, driving directions, visitor information, and any restrictions you may come across. It’s just so handy!

So if you’ve never seen this site, please go check it out. What a great way to plan a summer road trip with your family or friends this summer.

LeisureTime Promotions

I love the outdoors, and I love to travel. I also love to sleep in a sleeping bag on the ground in the middle of no where. But there are times when I want to travel and still have the luxury of home, and for those times a vacation VIP package from Leisuretime promotions would be wonderful.

Becoming a member allows you to choose when you go, and how long you stay at a resort. As a VIP member, you automatically qualify for generous flights, hotel and car rental discounts, plus other exclusive travel benefits. All you do is buy “points” then use them to go on vacation to all the different resorts in the network, including Australia, India, and Canada. The list goes on and on of all the exciting and fun places. All I needed to do was visit the video testimonials page to see how great this Leisuretime VIP package is.

Wilderness Programs Etc.

April 23, 2007 - Tag: The Great Outdoors - No Feedbacks (0)

There is something about being in the great outdoors that makes us all feel better. So when I read about the Directory Of Wilderness Programs for teens that are in trouble and struggling, I thought, GREAT IDEA! There is a reason that the first few nice days of spring bring people flocking outside, either to yard work, take a bike ride, a hike, or just washing the car. The fresh air and sunshine do wonderful things for the soul. This is a new site, but it’s mission is promising to me.
