i agree 100%. tent camping is the only way to go, if i wanted to use an RV i would stay home.

I've been tent camping in the snow. (June in yellowstone) and its pretty cool, I would repeat it. if you're properly prepared its a good experience.

I too enjoy tent camping. Not much of an RVer. I've been tent camping with the Scouts and family for many years. Picking the right tent for any season is easy if you have the right info. I have a couple of articles on my blog on how to choose the right tent that I would like to share with your readers.

All the best,

Tim

I have camped in the snow for years. You just need to find the right high quality tent and everything is fantastic. It feels better being in the wild, with a solid tent. Im going camping this weekend.

Do you guys do tent camping in winter as well? I like to stay in a tent in summer, but never tried to use one when snow is out.

I agree...it's the only way to camp! I actually want to get some suggestions about where to do a lot of true camping. If you have any you can post on my blog! http://katieoutdoors.blogspot.com/

You know I was excited about the camper over the labor day weekend, but it did feel less like camping... though it was much easier on my back, and not as cold at night! I'm an air mattress tent camper anyways, so I never quite make it all the way rustic hehe
