Pisat Solar K-Light

Here’s a rocking new product that every camper and environment enthusiast should own! The K-Light is an innovative, eco-friendly solar-powered lantern, designed to stand up to the harshest environments.

Approximately the size and weight of a can of soda, the unique combination of its solar-charging battery and bright, energy-efficient light-emitting diodes (LEDs), make the K-Light unlike any other product available today. Simply connect the solar panel to the K-Light and place it in direct sun for hours of clean, bright light.
Renewable energy at it’s finest, and only $69.95!

Tecnu Extreme
For all you campers and hikers out there, you all own a first aid kit, riiiight? Well you should have one, and it should be stocked with Tecnu Extreme cream. Tecnu Extreme is a poison ivy cream that can prevent you from ever getting it, or treat it once you have it.
Urushiol is the stuff that gets on your skin and causes you to itch. Tecnu Extreme, when used within 8 hours after exposure to the plants, can remove the urushiol thoroughly enough so that a person may be able to avoid the rash in the first place. If the rash has started, Tecnu Extreme can help stop the rash in its tracks and help with the itching.
The forest services use this, and so do landscapers, and others that work around foliage. It’s really easy to buy as you can find it in any drug store, or you can order it online here. So make sure to add this to your first aid kit!
Hi-Tec Hiking Boots at Zappos
I just got new hiking boots from Zappos.com. I didn’t have a lot to spend, so after Michael’s 40% discount, I scored on this pair of Hi-Tec
Cape Trail WP for only $44 bucks!

They feel pretty good on my feet, and I’m excited to test them out this weekend at the Virgin Gorge baby! Pictures to follow, I’m sure.

Squishy Bowls
Michael came across these cool Squishy Bowls on the internet today. They are made of silicone and they squish down for easy packing in your backpack.
They claim they are sturdy, and can withstand up to 400 degrees! You can either wash them out if water is available, or turn them inside out and lick them clean, and they come in 4 pretty colors, Tahoe Blue, tomato, Celery, and Slate.

They come in a Bowl & Cup set for $15.95. Just one Medium Bowl sells for $10.95, and two Travel Shots will run you $7.95. You can pick them up at REI, or Dick’s Sporting Goods.
Pretty nifty!

Tent Camping
As you guys know we love tent camping. It’s truly the only way to camp in our minds. Our friends gave us a new tent as a wedding gift, that we haven’t gotten to use yet, but we will soon, and maybe even in the snow! I came across a pretty informative site all about tent camping. It’s not flashy and fancy, just informative and straight to the point. They cover everything from types of tents, which ones to use in different weather conditions, and even links to the manufacturers websites where you can order them. And if you like eBay, they have a link to buying tents on the auction site as well.

We are two people who love to go camping and hiking. We love the outdoors, and we are working on becoming as green as we can be.
